Do you have the perfect Pinterest Christmas tree? Does it actually exist? Do people really go out every year and buy new decorations in order to create a different theme to last year?
My Christmas tree as I look at it now mainly consists of, initial decorations (way over do this, I always forget I have them and buy them every year again before I put the tree up). This one is Marks + Spencers, particularly like it because it lights up and really stands out on the tree.
Followed by decorations I pick up when away on holidays, gifts of tree decorations (Newbridge Cutlery being my favourite) and finally we have a little tradition going, each of my girls pick a tree decoration to buy every year.
There's no theme, no rhyme or reason and that's why I love it!
I have bought my decorations in all the usual suspects, Homestore and More, Woodies (50% off will be coming up really soon), Dunnes and Ikea for cushions, Marks & Spencers and BT's for special tree decorations.
My advice is, don't get drawn into the fads. Having some history on your tree is more lovely (even if the kids home-made decorations are questionable :)) then having the theme in fashion in a particular year (I think the worst was the pink and purple era). Your tree will always be the perfect tree if its your family tree decorated over the years..
